Expanding Our Laboratory Capabilities with UKAS Accreditation for Geotechnical Testing

At Subadra, the laboratory sits at the heart of everything we do. Our chemical testing services have long been central to site investigations and remediation projects, providing accurate data on hydrocarbons and contaminants in soils and waters.

To strengthen this capability, we expanded into geotechnical testing, gaining UKAS accreditation to ISO17025. This accreditation gives our clients confidence that every result is produced to the highest standard of quality and reliability.

So what does this mean in practice? It means our lab can now deliver accredited testing for:
Water content (BS17892-1)
Liquid and Plastic Limits (Atterbergs) (BS17892-12)
Particle Size Distribution (BS17892-4)

These tests play a crucial role in understanding the engineering properties of soils. They help our clients design foundations, assess ground stability and plan earthworks with greater certainty. Combined with our chemical testing, it means we can provide a more complete picture of the ground conditions on site.

None of this would have been possible without the leadership of our Laboratory Manager, Kate Clark, who has built a team that combines technical expertise with a commitment to service. Whether it is delivering quick turnaround times when projects are under pressure, or ensuring every detail meets UKAS standards, Kate and her team are central to the success of our projects.

By integrating both chemical and geotechnical testing under one roof, we can offer clients a streamlined service, saving time, reducing risk and ultimately helping projects move forward with confidence.
