About the project

Supporting the transition to electric transport with detailed ground investigation for a new charging hub using Subadra’s own drilling rigs to deliver fast, high-quality results.

The Challenge

Plans to redevelop a disused car park into a purpose-built EV charging station required detailed ground investigation to support both planning and design. The client needed:

  • An environmental assessment to address potential contamination risks for planning approval

  • geotechnical investigation to inform foundation and road pavement design

  • Waste classification of any arisings in line with WM3 and Environment Agency guidance

All of this needed to be delivered efficiently to keep the project moving on a tight timeline.

The Solution

We completed a comprehensive borehole investigation using our own drilling rigs and in-house field team. This allowed us to collect high-quality soil and groundwater data while keeping costs and delays to a minimum.

Our work included:

  • Environmental sampling and risk assessment for planning

  • Geotechnical logging and testing to support the foundation design of EV charging units and associated infrastructure

  • Waste soil analysis in accordance with WM3 guidance for correct classification and disposal

The Outcome

Our integrated investigation gave the client everything they needed to move forward confidently planning approval support, detailed design inputs, and compliant waste management strategy. With Subadra’s end-to-end delivery and owned equipment, we kept the project efficient and cost-effective from start to finish.
